Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées Wedding in Stresa was the beautiful setting for Lilli and Julian’s celebration on 24 August 2026. We had the pleasure of creating their complete floral design for this colourful summer wedding on Lake Maggiore.
Surrounded by the elegant gardens of the hotel, its historic architecture and the beautiful landscape of Lake Maggiore, their celebration was filled with colour, personality and a joyful summer atmosphere.
For their wedding flowers, Lilli and Julian chose a vibrant yet refined palette combining deep burgundy, pink, coral, orange and white, with touches of blue and purple.
Burgundy dahlias, blue oxypetalum, dark pink roses, salmon and orange carnations, white asters and gentian were combined to create a floral design full of movement and colour, conceived especially for their wedding in Stresa.
Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées Wedding Ceremony
The civil ceremony took place outdoors in the gardens of Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées, with the historic hotel, greenery and Lake Maggiore creating a spectacular setting for the celebration.
For the ceremony, we designed two tall floral structures positioned on either side of the couple.
Each structure was decorated with four loose, airy floral compositions, creating a total of eight individual arrangements. The design framed the ceremony without creating a heavy floral backdrop, allowing the surrounding landscape to remain an important part of the setting.
The colourful flowers stood out beautifully against the white ceremony aisle and the green gardens of the hotel.
Along the aisle, six small floral bouquets decorated the chairs, continuing the same palette and creating a visual connection from the entrance of the bride to the ceremony area.
The result was colourful, contemporary and natural: a floral setting designed to complement an outdoor wedding on Lake Maggiore.

The Wedding Colour Palette and Flowers
Colour played an essential role in Lilli and Julian’s floral design.
Rather than choosing a traditional neutral wedding palette, the couple wanted flowers with personality and contrast.
We combined burgundy dahlias, dark pink roses, salmon and orange carnations, white asters, blue oxypetalum and gentian, balancing stronger colours with lighter flowers and delicate textures.
The different shapes and tones gave movement to the arrangements while maintaining a coherent floral identity throughout the wedding.
From the ceremony structures to the bridal bouquet and reception flowers, the same palette accompanied the couple throughout the day.
Lilli’s Bridal Bouquet
For Lilli, we created a compact hand-tied bridal bouquet using flowers from the wedding palette.
Deep pink, burgundy, coral, white and blue-purple tones were combined in a natural composition with different shapes and textures.
Against Lilli’s white wedding dress, the vibrant colours created a beautiful contrast while connecting the bouquet directly to the floral design of the ceremony.
A coordinating boutonnière was created for Julian, completing the couple’s personal flowers.
Wedding Reception at Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées
After the outdoor ceremony, the celebration continued inside Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées.
For the reception, we deliberately changed the scale of the floral design while maintaining the same colour story.
The six guest tables were decorated with three individual glass vases, each featuring a carefully selected single flower from the wedding palette.
The transparent glass and individual blooms brought colour to the tables while allowing the elegant interiors and decorative details of the hotel to remain visible.
This lighter floral approach created a refined contrast with the more scenic ceremony arrangements outside.
From the garden ceremony to the reception tables, every element was designed to create continuity while adapting the floral design to the different spaces of the venue.
Bespoke Floral Design for a Lake Maggiore Wedding
Every wedding venue has its own character, and Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées in Stresa has a particularly distinctive identity.
Its historic architecture, elegant interiors, gardens and position on Lake Maggiore create a setting that already has a strong visual presence.
For this reason, our approach was not to overwhelm the venue with flowers, but to create floral arrangements that complemented each space.
For the outdoor ceremony, we used height, movement and vibrant colour to frame the couple and the landscape. For the reception, the floral design became more delicate and minimal, allowing the interiors of the hotel to become part of the overall aesthetic.
Lilli and Julian’s wedding is a beautiful example of how a colourful floral palette can work within an elegant Lake Maggiore setting while remaining refined, personal and contemporary.
